Have you ever been in the situation when you knife just isn’t cutting it? Seams to be smashing, tearing rather than cutting? Normally you would need to have this knife sharpened.

To prove it, the common test of slicing a piece of paper will show if your knife doesn’t cut very well. Take a piece of regular printer paper and try slicing it with the knife. If it tears the paper instead of cutting it, it’s time to sharpen the knife.

Do you have a sharpener? No? No problem! Just grab an coffee mug. Any old coffee mug will do.

Run the knife blade along the unglazed porcelain on the bottom of the coffee mug. Hold the knife at a 30 degree angle and draw the blade lightly across. All you want to do is clean the edge of the knife and you’re done!
